Commit to the Bit

Picture this: you're walking through Cross Campus, keeping your head down and navigating gingerly around the groups of students who like to be seen on Cross Campus. You happen upon an innocuous stand distributing free copies of an even more innocuous looking book, entitled: Island Fruit Remedy. You ironically accept a copy and speed off to avoid further interaction. But, little do you know, this unassuming book, is part of a much greater, obscure and unfathomable, whole. Its author, Rich Shapero, the mastermind behind this project, is the target of our investigation. Not only do we examine his works (which stylistically evoke Hemingway, Wattpad, Homer) but also the specific soundtracks Shapero himself has carefully developed to accompany each work. But his artistic genius is not the only subject of inquiry.

In Commit to the Bit, your hosts–the esteemed Luke and Gisela–pull back the curtain on a nation-wide, highly eccentric operation Shapero has established. These eccentricities include: mysterious henchmen appearing on  universities distributing Shapero's works, a faulty multi-media app scamming its users, a cult-like following.

The unassuming book stand on cross campus, we'll discover, is so much more than just that. Join us in an investigation of the utopia created within his books, which will reveal a dystopia created beyond them.
