Having become friends over a shared love of music, we found a frustrating gap in the modern radio portrayal of disco, funk, and all its shared sounds. We aim to share for an hour a week a look into the 70s, and all the music that has subsequently come from it - including hiphop, modern jazz, new disco, techno etc.

Paddy and I hope to be lathering it on think with SPF50 every week through the WYBC. We'll be dabbling with the decks - mixing tracks with funky throwbacks. Our aim is to get the listener in a groovy mood before they crack open their text books or head out into the night to one of New Haven's notorious swing shacks (e.g. owl shop).

But it won’t all be music. We intend to spend a good portion of air time chatting about the industry, how genres are evolving, how we think they should be evolving, and, of course, seasoned with some quality banter.

We hope to be considered for a time slot this semester. We didn’t manage to coordinate last semester after doing the training, but we’re back with newfound enthusiasm about our show.

Paddy and I are both on campus and hope to be using the societies beautiful broadcasting station for our show.

Some ex-society members, Alex Julicher & Kathryn Miyawaki, will be navigating us through our broadcasting voyage having ripped a similar gig for the past year. They're also bound to make a couple of remote appearances and who wouldn't want WYBC alums back on air!!
