Fly by Night

Google defines "Fly-By-Night" as meaning "unreliable" or "untrustworthy." Similarly, what this show has been about the past few years is to explore a variety of different contemporary musical genres and styles. Each show will have a cohesive theme or two, but shows could vary wildly from week to week. Generally, all music will be modern or at least relevant to contemporary music, but the point for me has always been to be as broad as possible. One week might focus on Kanye West and GOOD music, another might focus on contemporary British Rock and Roll, or female country singers.

As a whole, the point is to paint a broad and comprehensive picture of contemporary music and it's various trends across genres and styles. By playing very different genres and themes each week, we can start thinking about how Kacey Musgraves and Leon Bridges and Bon Iver and like Sean Paul each represent this one broad thing (contemporary music) in very different ways.
